This year, winter weather could bring a delayed start for schools
If severe weather hits Greeley this winter, District 6 now has a 2 hour delayed start option to its response plans. This winter, the district could declare schools are open, schools are closed, or schools will be on a 2-hour delayed start. This option might be used if early morning weather and road conditions are bad, but are predicted to improve by mid-morning. This decision would be announced in the same manner as in the past: immediate updates on the district’s website and Facebook pages, notification to local TV and radio stations, and a recorded message on the district’s main phone number 348-6000.
The open enrollment window will open Monday, November 28, 2011 and close at the end of business on Friday, January 20, 2012. All students presently attending a school under open enrollment or transfer will automatically be enrolled into the school they are presently attending for the 2012-2013 school year. Parents will NOT be required to complete open enrollment applications. If you are transitioning from one school level to another students will be enrolled in their boundary school unless an open enrollment application is submitted and approved. If you have questions on to which high school your student is going to attend please contact us at 348-5000.
